Diamond Jubilee Women’s Fete

The Diocesan Women Fellowship for Christian Service (DWFCS) organized Diamond Jubilee Women’s Fete on 9th December 2012 in St. Paul’s Church, Amritsar. The Fete started with a combined worship, where congregations from Amritsar and surrounding places took part. Bishop P.K. Samantaroy challenged the congregation in his message taking the example of a nameless slave girl from 2 Kings 5: 1- 6. She was the means for Naman’s healing and was the real heroin. In conclusion he said that all, especially men, should uphold the female race who were neglected and taken for granted. Further he also informed about the purpose of the Fete i.e. to support the Diocese in providing education to the under privileged children. He encouraged the congregation to join hands in this noble initiative.

Total 15 stalls were installed by different congregations and Institutions containing varieties of food items, knitted sweaters, games, paintings and candles. The special attraction was a kitchen depicting the life and culture of rural Punjab. In the Bishop’s stall there was an exhibition cum sale of different cultural articles from the Diocesan territory i.e. Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

Around 700 people participated in the Fete with great enthusiasm. The Fete ended with the Raffle draw announcing 31 attractive prizes. Many individuals, congregations and Diocesan Institutions contributed generously through different means to make this event a grand success.
