Masihi Chetna Yatra 8 - 10, December
 

A three-days Masihi Chetna Yatra (Christian Awakening Rally) was organized in Majha Area (Ajnala, Fathegarh Churiyan, Batala, Tarn Taran and Khem Karan) of the Diocese of Amritsar. The Most Rev. Pradeep Kumar Samantaroy elucidated the meaning and purpose of the Masihi Chetna Yatra as a spiritual revival of our congregations. He further said that it is a time for the church to come out of its comfort zone and go the people to share the Love of God in action. He also encouraged the people to leave behind the worldly ways of life. He stressed that the Christ came for the whole humanity not for the Christians alone. The Yatra started from the Diocesan Headquarters, Amritsar, went through villages and towns to share the Love of God for humanity and to motivate them to follow the teachings of Jesus. Mr. Alwan Masih, the General Secretary, CNI Synod, The Rt. Rev. Younas Massey, Bishop, Diocese of Chandigarh, Mr. Prawez Samuel Kaul along with his wife Mrs. Joyce Kaul from TBMS, Srinagar and partners from Bethlehem Lutheran Church, USA joined with the Diocese of Amritsar to spread the message of love, peace and harmony in the Majha region of Punjab.

The yatra was warmly welcomed by all irrespective of any particular religion. All the presbyters along with their congregations, the workers of the Socio Economic Development Project (SEDP) and the Staff of Diocesan Education Project for Disadvantaged Children (DEPDC) organized the rally in their respective areas and actively participated in it.Department of Communication
